Gentiana Brahimaj is an immigrant who didn’t always have it easy. Through hard work, dedication and love of her family, she was able to build a beautiful and fulfilling life here in Berkeley Heights. Gentiana has lived in BH for nearly 20 years with her husband and 3 children. She is a proud mom of an active U.S. Navy Officer and wife of a U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany during the Vietnam war. Gentiana’s oldest daughter has a successful career at one of largest global investment banks. Gentiana also has a 8th grade daughter currently attending CMS. Gentiana has extensive legal experience as well as administrative and hospitality experience. She has always tried paying it forward by dedicating countless hours volunteering at our schools; chairing MKM school fundraiser, attending school trips, volunteering at the library, working at the book fairs. She loved her time as class mom and a Girl Scout volunteer and is still very much with her eighth grader.
Manny Couto is a fixture in Berkeley Heights. Manny has lived in BH for over 23 years with his wife, 2 sons and 1 daughter. His kids all attended the school systems in Berkeley Heights. Manny is a Realtor, small business owner, and your councilman. Manny has contributed to the Downtown Beautification Committee, Peppertown Park Renewal Committee, and Veterans Memorial Park Committee. It is because of Manny that our downtown and four corners look so beautiful. Manny helped ensure Berkeley Heights is protected against state mandated affordable housing for the next 10 years.
